Congratulations to New York State DOT Region 5

A 5.2-mile bikeway project around Red House Lake in Allegany State Park has received an award from the Federal Highway Administration. The bike path was part of a mitigation package for a Southern Tier Expressway project. It features an EVERGREEN retaining wall that blends into the mountainside near Red House Spillway. Cited in the Highway Support Facilities category, the bike path was recognized for site development, integration with highway system, signing and graphics, as well as innovative design.
